Tour de France Grand Depart Stage 2 – Huddersfield
Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the last few weeks, you’re probably more than aware that it was the Grand Depart of the Tour De France this weekend, and where else but my home county of Yorkshire! We don’t usually watch the Tour, but we knew that it was a spectacle not to

Am I turning into a crazy cat lady? Maybe…
My aunt went back to her house in Crete this week, so me and Cameron moved temporarily into her house to look after her cat Jessica and her dog Ben. Last time we stayed over, Jessica pretty much just ignored us (as cats are wont to do), but this time she was friendly as anything,

Holiday Day Five – Midland Air Museum & Baddesley Clinton
For the final day of our holiday, we didn’t really know what we wanted to do, so I googled things to do in Coventry and the top result was the Midland Air Museum, based at Coventry Airport. At only £6.50 per adult, it was an absolute bargain! The main exhibit is all about Sir Frank

Holiday Day Four – Castle Drogo
Day four of our holiday involved a drive partially home for the next stage of our holiday in Coventry. We didn’t want to lose an entire day to travelling, so we decided to pick a National Trust property on our way and stop off for a look around. We picked Castle Drogo in Devon completely

Cornwall Day Three – Lands End & St Michael’s Mount
No trip to Cornwall would be complete without a trip to Lands End, so we decided to venture down there on day three of our holiday. We arrived quite early, but it was already packed with visitors! There were quite a few shops to go in, then we ventured out to the actual end of

Cornwall Day Two – Holywell Bay
On the second day of our holiday we decided to go for a drive and find one of the National Trust car parks on the coast which are free to park in for National Trust members like us. We picked Holywell Bay randomly from the map and boy did we make a good choice. The

Cornwall Day One – Fowey
The first day of our holiday was mostly spent driving from Bristol to Cornwall after staying the night with my uncle the night before. But after we’d unpacked at the hotel, we decided to go for a drive and check out some of the Cornish countryside. After getting stuck behind an old VW campervan on

HM2014 – 15th May
Well I reached over 11,000 steps yesterday, which is significantly higher than normal! Before work I went for a very sunny walk around Yeadon Tarn. At lunchtime, I went for a quick walk around the block, and then since I needed to make a call to my insurance company, I took my phone outside and

HM2014 – 14th May
Well it looks like the weather may finally have turned! I went for a quick ten minute walk around the block at lunchtime yesterday, after which it proceeded to rain torrentially all afternoon. But by the time I left the office and got to Golden Acre, it was glorious sunshine, and it made for a

HM2014 – 13th May
Yesterday was not such a great day at work, but a great day diet-wise. My day started off with my usual walk around a very sunny Yeadon Tarn, which definitely woke me up! After having a meeting that ran halfway over lunch and then coming out of the meeting to torrential rain, I decided to

HM2014 – 12th May
Well this weekend has been pretty quiet, but I haven’t been on my PC, hence why there hasn’t been a blog post. But don’t worry, I’ve been sticking to it. I woke up early on Saturday morning and took a walk into Pudsey to take my books back to the library, racking up 2000 steps

HM2014 – 9th May
The rain made my walk last night very miserable. It poured down all the way around Golden Acre and I was soaked by the time I’d finished! But at least I got my steps in for the day! Today’s post is a tad late but it’s been a busy day! It was my workplace’s tenth

HM2014 – 8th May
Damn the rain! It’s been so miserable here the last couple of days, although that didn’t stop me from getting all my walks in yesterday. I started the morning with a 7am walk around Yeadon Tarn, which was pretty peaceful. I then went out at lunch for a mile walk around the local park/housing estate.

HM2014 – 7th May
Well yesterday was my first ‘off-day’. Although saying that, according to Fitbit I was bang on target for calories, so I guess it wasn’t that off, but I’ll let you decide for yourself! The day was supposed to involve a trip into Leeds to walk around and do some shopping, but after spiralling up 18

HM2014 – 6th May
Yesterday was the first day this week that I managed to get over 10,000 steps! To start the day, we went to Beningborough Hall, a National Trust property near York. Twinned with the National Portrait Gallery, they had an exhibition called Royals: Then and Now, with portraits from Charles I right up to cute Prince
